Balance

A short poem

It’s a delicate thing: knowing when to blaze your own path and when to rest on the side of the road and wait for help to come.

What I’m learning is that both can happen at the same time.

We have to get in the boat and hoist the sails and simultaneously trust that the Author of the winds will allow them to blow us into the sea.

That the Creator is orchestrating the pattern so we can surrender to where the gusts take us while tacking and gybing.

The most important thing we can do is acknowledge that we’re not in control and allow the story to be written while we hold the pen.
