This morning I read John 6:16-21 – the story of Jesus walking on water. I’m sure all of you have read this passage multiple times, but for me, it was a good reminder of a few things:

• Jesus meets us in the middle of the storm, not on the safe, sandy shore
• We too can walk on water when we have faith and keep our eyes fixed on him (as recounted in Matthew’s version of the story – Matt 14:22 – 33)
• The moment we take our eyes OFF Jesus and start looking at the “wind” is the moment we start to drown

May you be encouraged in the midst of whatever storm you may be facing, knowing that Jesus is whispering to you, “It is I; do not be afraid.”
